by Bro. Laureano Culala Jr. and Bro. Willy Ramirez
HNS Bulletin, VOLVIII, ISSUE 11, May - June 2009

INSIDE The traditional HNS Walk for Peace held last June 12 was a success. More than 300 Holy Namers from the Diocese of Antipolo, Archdiocese of Manila, Diocese of Cubao, Diocese of Kalookan, and Diocese of Pasig participated.

The 3 kilometer walk started at Yñares Gym and ended at Jamesville Resort, Antipolo. In addition to the Philippine flags that they waved, the participants also brought placards with slogans of anti-House Bill 5043, popularly known as the Reproductive Health Bill. Past National President Manny De Guzman, Nat. Executive VP Jun Culala, Union President Art Sanchez of Antipolo, Union President Ed Cabanos of Cubao and Union President Ferdie Seidel of Manila were among the many HNS officers who joined the Walk.

At the Resort, a concelebrated Mass officiated by Bishop Gabriel Reyes, Bishop of Antipolo, with Fr. Nante Tolentino, Spiritual Director of the DUHNS of Antipolo was held.

A total of 32 new HNS members from the different Units of Manila and Antipolo were inducted by Bishop Reyes.

One particular unit, the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Sampaloc, Manila, came in force with its President, Bro. George Ortha, because the date (June 12) happened to be their Unit’s 57th Anniversary.
