The first regional Archdiocesan Convention was held in Masbate City on September 21 -23 under the leadership of Bro. Eric Brisuela, Archdiocesan Union President, and Bro. Cicero Conag and Bro. Paquito "Paking" Espares who generously hosted the affair. Invite guest speakers were Sister Teresita Dy-Liacco Flores and Fr. Ricardo Francisco Miranda SVD with the theme “HNS: Keeping the Christian Tradition of Brotherhood”. About one hundred thirty delegates attended from all over Masbate, Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur and newly revive Virac, Cataduanes. Many of the Holy Namers from Masbate are “Rancheros” and so every night, the delegates feasted on roasted calves and culminated by the night of entertainment called the “Rodeo Night” where colorful and delightful cultural numbers where presented.
The Regional Convention was graced by the members of National Executive Board namely: Fr. Edgardo Alaurin, National Promoter and Spiritual Director, Sister Ellen de Leon, National Treasurer and Bro. and Mrs. Laureno “Jun” Culala.
The Regional Convention coincided along with the 50th Anniversary of foundation of Diocese of Masbate graced by the Papal Nuncio Gabriele Giordano Caccia.
